I’ve always thought string art was interesting, but I never played around with it until I realized that it could be both visually pleasing and functional. I loved the idea of displaying weighted earrings on a dainty, delicate piece of string. Here’s how I did it.
-Begin by nailing eight small
nails to the frame.
*Thrift stores are great places to find old, rustic frames.
**I’ve illustrated (with arrows) where I positioned each nail on the frame. You can use a ruler to simplify the spacing process.
-Make a knot around the nail you’ll be starting at.
-Proceed to wrap the string around each nail tightly.
*I began on the outside and made a large rectangle, then made a large “X”, then worked my way in to the smaller X’s.
-Tie off and display as wall art, or add some of your favorite earrings.
