I love the idea of bringing natural, autumnal objects into the house for fall decor. Today I went out and gathered some pinecones from beneath our tree and filed them into an hourglass vase. I think this would make such a cute, simple centerpiece! I then was thinking of fall DIY projects that could be done with kids. Painting pinecones is so simple and the end result is surprisingly aesthetic. I used Americana acrylic paints and sealed them with mod podge (that stuff is so handy). Various additional items could be used in this project. Glitter would be fun, although it could get messy with kids. How cute would these bright guys look strung on a garland?
